Greeted with friendly smiles and a good cup of coffee, first
time visitors to Hope Coffee Co. can expect to be welcomed with open arms into
its refreshing environment. The brand-new coffee bar, nestled inside Wallburg’s
own HopeCity Church, balances class and comfort with the use of warm, natural
materials, and sleek, contemporary colors.
The beautiful space is the result of a collaborative effort between the
talented designers and coffee professionals of Fortuna Enterprises and the
wonderful folks at HopeCity Church. What sets Hope Coffee Co. apart from most
coffee shops is their “pay what you can” mission. Founded with the goal of
eliminating hunger in their community, Hope Coffee Co. strives to give their
best to all customers, regardless of means.
With a shop that is truly like no other, the Fortuna team knew Hope Coffee Co.’s space had to reflect its unique mission. This process began behind the scenes, with equipment, furniture, and floor plans. Designing the shop’s layout quickly became a vital piece of the puzzle, as it can influence the overall atmosphere and affect how customers feel in a space. Specializing in commercial kitchen and coffee bar design, Fortuna designers were able to create a bar layout that focused not only on efficiency and ease of use, but also on openness and the opportunity for connection between barista and customer.
After specifying plans and equipment, the Fortuna team worked closely with the Hope Coffee Co. to carry out important next steps. Former Director of the Guilford County Health Department, David Foust, consulted as the Fortuna team managed the applications and permitting process for the shop with the Davidson County Health Department. With a fierce dedication to assisting their clients in every aspect of opening their business, Fortuna is made up of talented individuals with expertise in every area of the hospitality industry, ensuring a smooth, easy process for its clients.
Furniture and fixtures chosen by HopeCity’s team were sourced and procured by Fortuna, ensuring timeliness and easy deliveries. Equipment, such as their beautiful Cimballi espresso machine, was also procured and benched prior to being installed. Once everything was in place, Fortuna’s Director of Coffee Programs facilitated a hands-on, barista training session with the Hope Coffee Co. staff, giving them all the tools and knowledge that they would need to serve their community the perfect cup of coffee.
Continuing their partnership, Hope Coffee Co. is serving
specialty coffee sourced and roasted by Fortuna. By roasting to-order, the
Fortuna roasters guarantee that Hope Coffee Co. is serving coffee at its
freshest. Their coffee is packaged, custom-labeled with designs created by the
Fortuna graphics team and delivered biweekly, along with a plethora of
essential products. Providing everything from plastic disposables to syrups to paper goods,
Fortuna keeps their customers stocked and offers accessible order pickup during the week
for any last-minute product needs.
While Fortuna’s services often begin with design and consultation, they never end there. Fortuna Enterprises is proud to have been integral in the process of opening Hope Coffee Co. and looks forward to a continued partnership, providing them with supply, servicing of equipment, coffee recommendations, and more.
