How to Gain New Customers for Free

The Tool You Shouldn't Ignore

Did you know there is a free marketing tool that is more powerful than Facebook or TikTok? If you aren’t properly using this tool, it could be costing your business thousands of dollars. This one simple tool is your email. Yes-your email. As anti-climatic as this may seem, Forbes refers to your email list as “a treasure.” And this treasure is likely the most underrated marketing tool you are not currently using.

If you are honest with yourself you probably are not sending out enough emails to your customers. For instance, the billionaire entrepreneur and influencer Grant Cardone had his company send out over 400,000,000 emails in 2021 alone. While you may not have tens of thousands of people to send emails to, the odds are both your existing customers and your future customers all have at least one email inbox and you could send them more emails.

You're In The Driver's Seat

Neil Patel, the famous online marketer, praises email marketing because it provides a direct line of communication with your audience/customer and “gives you more control.” He along with many other prominent online marketers note that with most other marketing outlets/platforms such as social media, you do not own the platform. For instance, if the specific platform that you are currently using ceases to exist, all of your work will simultaneously. On the other hand, the email list you build is something that you own. In addition to this, email is both measurable and scalable. The best part is that you can do it for free! While paid services do exist, you can start an email marketing campaign for free with the right platform.

It's All About Your List

In an effort to keep things simplified, email marketing is simply about one thing-your list. The bigger your list, the greater your chance is to sell your products and or services. Email is great for people who own local businesses like a coffee shop. A small café owner could grow his or her business significantly by creating an email list and running promotional emails or contests. They would be best served by leveraging these promotions and or contests to obtain new email subscribers to grow their list. As their list grows, they would then be able to run more contests and promotions to keep their subscribers engaged and then be able to repeat the process all over again.

Choose the Right Platform

Today, many different email services exist. Some of the top email services are: Mail Chimp, MailerLite, Constant Contact, Get Response, and Active Campaign. Both Mail Chimp and MailerLite offer a free level subscription. If you are planning on having a large list of people to send emails to, Mail Chimp is a great option. If you would like to create automation for your emails MailerLite is a great option to look into. Each service has its benefits so they are all worth checking out if you are considering marketing to your clients through your email.

Get Started

Getting started might make you feel overwhelmed. There are links below to guide you through the process. If you are serious about email marketing, don’t use your regular Gmail or Outlook account. Sign up for a new email service and start growing your email list now.

It has been said that money follows attention; therefore let your community know about what you’re doing. Send an email to your customers to update them on your business and then send another one, and another one, and another one.
